How to Use Wundaweb Hemming Web
Step 1: Prepare Your Fabric
- Ensure the fabric you are working with is clean and dry.
- Decide where you want the hem or repair to be applied.
- Measure and mark the area where the hemming web will be placed.
Step 2: Cut the Hemming Web
- Unroll the Wundaweb and cut it to the desired length using a pair of scissors.
- Ensure the length of the hemming web matches the area you are hemming or repairing.
Step 3: Position the Hemming Web
- Place the hemming web between the layers of fabric you wish to bond.
- Ensure it is aligned accurately along the hemline or repair line.
Step 4: Iron the Hemming Web
- Set your iron to the appropriate temperature for your fabric (usually a medium heat setting).
- Place a damp cloth or pressing cloth over the area where the Wundaweb is positioned.
- Press the iron on top of the cloth, applying firm pressure for about 10-15 seconds.
- Move the iron along the entire length of the hemming web, ensuring even heat distribution.
Step 5: Finish and Inspect
- Allow the fabric to cool down for a few minutes to ensure the bond sets properly.
- Inspect the hem or repair to ensure a strong, even bond has been achieved.
- Repeat the steps if necessary for additional sections.
Additional Tips
- Test on a small, inconspicuous area first to ensure fabric compatibility.
- Avoid using steam during the ironing process as it may affect the adhesive properties.
