How to Use Ultratape Ultra Core Masking Tape

Materials Needed

• Ultratape Ultra Core Masking Tape 48mm x 40m
• Scissors or a tape dispenser with a cutting edge
• Clean cloth or surface cleaner

Step-by-Step Instructions

Prepare the Surface

1. Ensure the surface you want to mask is clean and dry.
2. Use a clean cloth or surface cleaner to remove any dust, dirt, or grease.
3. Allow the surface to dry completely before applying the tape.

Applying the Tape

1. Unroll a suitable length of masking tape from the roll.
2. Position the tape at the starting point of the area you want to cover.
3. Press the tape down firmly, smoothing it out as you go to avoid air bubbles or wrinkles.
4. Continue unrolling and pressing the tape along the desired path.
5. If you need to turn corners or create curves, apply the tape in short segments for better control.

Cutting the Tape

1. Once you reach the end of the area you want to mask, use scissors or the cutting edge of a tape dispenser to cut the tape.
2. Press down the end of the tape firmly to ensure it adheres well to the surface.

Removing the Tape

1. After use or painting, gently lift one edge of the tape.
2. Slowly peel it back at a 45-degree angle to avoid damaging the surface.
3. Dispose of the used tape responsibly.

Tips for Best Results

• Test the tape on a small, inconspicuous area to ensure it does not damage the surface.
• For best adhesion, apply the tape at room temperature.
• Remove the tape while the paint or finish is still slightly tacky to prevent peeling.
