How to Use the Glass French Press Coffee Maker
Step 1: Gather Your Materials
- Glass French Press Coffee Maker (600 ml)
- Coarse ground coffee
- Hot water (just below boiling, around 200°F or 93°C)
- Spoon or stirring stick
- Cup or mug
Step 2: Prepare the French Press
- Remove the lid and plunger from the French Press.
- Ensure the glass carafe is clean and dry.
Step 3: Add Coffee Grounds
- Measure out the coffee grounds. A standard ratio is about 1 tablespoon of coffee for every 4 ounces of water.
- Add the coarse ground coffee to the bottom of the glass carafe.
Step 4: Add Hot Water
- Slowly pour hot water over the coffee grounds, ensuring all the grounds are saturated.
- Fill the French Press up to the 600 ml mark.
Step 5: Stir and Steep
- Gently stir the coffee and water mixture with a spoon or stirring stick.
- Place the lid and plunger on top, but do not press down yet.
- Allow the coffee to steep for about 4 minutes.
Step 6: Press and Serve
- Slowly and steadily press the plunger down to separate the grounds from the brewed coffee.
- Pour the freshly brewed coffee into your cup or mug.
Step 7: Clean the French Press
- Dispose of the used coffee grounds.
- Rinse the glass carafe, lid, and plunger with warm water.
- For a deeper clean, wash with mild soap and water as needed.
