How to Use ORACSTAR PF18 Compression Stop End 15mm

Materials Needed

  • ORACSTAR PF18 Compression Stop End 15mm
  • 15mm copper or plastic pipe
  • Adjustable wrench or spanner
  • PTFE tape (optional for extra sealing)

Steps to Install

Step 1: Prepare the Pipe

  • Ensure the pipe end is clean and free from any debris.
  • If necessary, cut the pipe to the desired length using a pipe cutter, ensuring a smooth, square edge.
  • Deburr the inside and outside of the pipe with a deburring tool.

Step 2: Attach the Compression Stop End

  • Slide the compression nut over the pipe, followed by the compression ring (also known as the olive).
  • Insert the pipe into the stop end fitting, ensuring it reaches the internal stop.
  • Push the compression ring against the fitting and screw the compression nut onto the threads of the stop end.

Step 3: Tighten the Fitting

  • Using an adjustable wrench or spanner, hold the stop end steady and tighten the compression nut until secure.
  • Ensure not to over-tighten as it may damage the fitting or pipe.
  • For additional sealing, you may wrap the threads with PTFE tape before tightening.

Step 4: Check for Leaks

  • Turn on the water supply and inspect the fitting for any leaks.
  • If a leak is present, gently tighten the compression nut further until the leak stops.

  • Ensure you have shut off the water supply before beginning installation.
  • Wear protective gloves to prevent injury while handling tools and materials.
