How to Use ORACSTAR PF18 Compression Stop End 15mm
Materials Needed
- ORACSTAR PF18 Compression Stop End 15mm
- 15mm copper or plastic pipe
- Adjustable wrench or spanner
- PTFE tape (optional for extra sealing)
Steps to Install
Step 1: Prepare the Pipe
- Ensure the pipe end is clean and free from any debris.
- If necessary, cut the pipe to the desired length using a pipe cutter, ensuring a smooth, square edge.
- Deburr the inside and outside of the pipe with a deburring tool.
Step 2: Attach the Compression Stop End
- Slide the compression nut over the pipe, followed by the compression ring (also known as the olive).
- Insert the pipe into the stop end fitting, ensuring it reaches the internal stop.
- Push the compression ring against the fitting and screw the compression nut onto the threads of the stop end.
Step 3: Tighten the Fitting
- Using an adjustable wrench or spanner, hold the stop end steady and tighten the compression nut until secure.
- Ensure not to over-tighten as it may damage the fitting or pipe.
- For additional sealing, you may wrap the threads with PTFE tape before tightening.
Step 4: Check for Leaks
- Turn on the water supply and inspect the fitting for any leaks.
- If a leak is present, gently tighten the compression nut further until the leak stops.
Safety Precautions
- Ensure you have shut off the water supply before beginning installation.
- Wear protective gloves to prevent injury while handling tools and materials.
