Materials You Will Need

• Compatible fluorescent light fixture

Steps for Installation

1. Ensure Safety

• Turn off the power to the light fixture at the circuit breaker to prevent electric shock.
• Allow the existing tube to cool down before handling, if replacing an old tube.
• Wear protective gloves to avoid direct contact with the tube and to protect your hands.

2. Remove the Old Fluorescent Tube (if applicable)

• Carefully remove the light cover or diffuser from the fixture if present.
• Gently rotate the old fluorescent tube 90 degrees until it becomes loose.
• Slide the tube out of the sockets and set it aside for proper disposal.

3. Install the New Fluorescent Tube

• Take the new Crompton Fluorescent T5 Tube out of its packaging.
• Align the pins of the tube with the sockets in the fixture.
• Gently slide the tube into the sockets.
• Rotate the tube 90 degrees until it clicks into place, ensuring it is secure and properly aligned.

4. Test the Installation

• Turn the power back on at the circuit breaker.
• Switch on the light fixture to ensure the tube is working correctly.
• If the light does not turn on, turn off the power and check the installation to ensure the tube is properly seated.

5. Dispose of Old Tube

• Take the old fluorescent tube to a recycling center that handles fluorescent lighting.
• Do not dispose of fluorescent tubes in regular household waste due to the presence of mercury.
