How to Use the BRITA Style Water Filter Jug

Getting Started

  • Remove all packaging materials from the water filter jug.
  • Familiarize yourself with the parts: the jug, the lid, and the filter cartridge.
  • Wash the jug and lid with warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly.

Installing the Filter Cartridge

  • Submerge the new filter cartridge in cold water and shake gently to remove any air bubbles.
  • Insert the filter cartridge into the funnel of the jug.
  • Ensure the cartridge is securely fitted and seated properly.

Filtering Water

  • Fill the jug with cold tap water.
  • Allow the water to pass through the filter cartridge and collect in the jug below.
  • Repeat the process for two full jug fillings to activate the filter (this water can be discarded).
  • After the initial activation, your water filter jug is ready for use.

Maintaining Your Water Filter Jug

  • Replace the filter cartridge every four weeks or after filtering 100 liters of water, whichever comes first.
  • Clean the jug and lid regularly to maintain optimal hygiene and performance.
  • Store the jug in a cool, dry place when not in use.

Tips for Best Results

  • Always use cold water for filtering and avoid hot water as it may damage the filter.
  • Do not use the jug with beverages other than water to avoid contamination.
