How to Use Bartoline All Purpose Wallpaper Adhesive
Materials Needed
- Bartoline All Purpose Wallpaper Adhesive
- Wallpaper
- Water
- Mixing bucket
- Paste brush or roller
- Sharp knife or wallpaper scissors
- Wallpaper smoother or brush
Preparation
- Ensure the wall surface is clean, dry, and free from dust and grease.
- Fill any holes or cracks and sand smooth.
- Measure the wall height and cut the wallpaper to size, leaving a little extra for trimming.
Mixing the Adhesive
- Fill a mixing bucket with the recommended amount of cold water. Refer to the adhesive packaging for specific measurements.
- Sprinkle the adhesive powder into the water slowly while stirring continuously.
- Stir the mixture thoroughly to ensure there are no lumps.
- Leave the mixture to stand for a few minutes until it thickens to a creamy consistency.
Applying the Adhesive
- Lay the wallpaper face down on a clean surface.
- Using a paste brush or roller, apply the adhesive evenly onto the back of the wallpaper.
- Ensure all edges are well-pasted.
- Fold the paper by bringing the ends toward the middle (also known as “booking”) and let it sit for a few minutes to allow the adhesive to penetrate.
Hanging the Wallpaper
- Start from the top of the wall and align the edge of the wallpaper with your marked guideline.
- Smooth the wallpaper onto the wall using a wallpaper smoother or brush, working from the center outwards to remove air bubbles.
- Trim any excess paper at the top and bottom using a sharp knife or wallpaper scissors.
- Wipe away any excess adhesive with a damp sponge or cloth.
Finishing Touches
- Repeat the process for additional rolls, carefully aligning the pattern at the seams.
- Allow the wallpaper to dry completely before applying any finishing touches or decorations.
