How to Use Wundaweb Hemming Tape
Materials Needed
- Wundaweb Hemming Tape
- Iron
- Ironing board or flat surface
- Cloth or pressing cloth
- Scissors
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Prepare Your Fabric
- Lay the fabric on a flat surface.
- Ensure that the edges to be hemmed are clean and free from frays.
- If necessary, trim any excess threads or uneven edges with scissors.
Step 2: Measure and Cut the Tape
- Measure the length of the fabric edge that needs hemming.
- Cut a piece of Wundaweb Hemming Tape to match this length.
Step 3: Position the Tape
- Place the Wundaweb Hemming Tape between the folded hem of the fabric.
- Ensure the tape is aligned properly along the entire edge.
Step 4: Iron the Hem
- Set your iron to the appropriate heat setting for the fabric you are working with.
- Cover the hem with a cloth or pressing cloth to protect the fabric.
- Press the iron firmly over the hem for about 10-15 seconds, allowing the tape to bond the fabric together.
- Move the iron along the hem, continuing to press down firmly. Do not slide the iron as this might shift the tape.
Step 5: Check and Finish
- Allow the hem to cool for a few minutes.
- Check to ensure the hem is securely bonded.
- If necessary, repeat the ironing process on any sections that are not fully secured.
Tips for Best Results
- Test on a small piece of fabric first to ensure compatibility.
- Use a pressing cloth to prevent the iron from sticking to the tape or fabric.
- Ensure the iron is at the correct temperature; too hot may damage the fabric.
