How to Use Westland Water Saving / Retention Gel 250GM
Materials Needed
- Westland Water Saving / Retention Gel 250GM
- Watering can or jug
- Soil or planting medium
- Garden tools (optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Soil
- Choose the area where you will apply the gel. This could be a garden bed, pot, or planter.
- Loosen the soil using a spade or trowel to ensure even distribution of the gel.
Step 2: Measure the Gel
- Determine the amount of Water Saving Gel needed based on the area size and soil type. Generally, use approximately 5 grams of gel per 1 litre of soil.
- Measure out the required amount of gel using a measuring spoon.
Step 3: Mixing the Gel
- Evenly distribute the measured gel over the soil surface.
- Gently mix the gel into the top 10-15 cm of soil using your hands or a garden tool.
Step 4: Water the Soil
- Fill a watering can or jug with water.
- Slowly water the soil to allow the gel to absorb moisture. Ensure the gel is thoroughly activated by watering until the soil is evenly moist.
Step 5: Plant Your Seeds or Plants
- Proceed to plant seeds or plants in the soil as usual.
- Water the plants as needed, knowing that the gel helps retain moisture, reducing the frequency of watering.
Tips
- Reapply the gel every growing season or as needed, depending on soil conditions.
- Store any unused gel in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
