How to Use Poultry Lacers with Cotton Twine

Materials Needed

  • 8 Poultry Lacers with Cotton Twine
  • Poultry or meat to be stuffed
  • Stuffing mixture of your choice
  • Scissors

Preparation

  1. Ensure the poultry or meat is properly thawed and cleaned.
  2. Prepare your stuffing mixture according to your recipe.

Stuffing the Meat

  1. Open the cavity of the poultry or meat and spoon the stuffing inside, ensuring it is evenly distributed.
  2. Do not overfill to allow for expansion during cooking.

Using the Poultry Lacers

  1. Take one of the stainless steel lacers and insert it through the skin on one side of the opening.
  2. Push the lacer through to the opposite side, holding the edges of the opening together.
  3. Continue inserting additional lacers, spaced evenly, to secure the opening.

Securing with Cotton Twine

  1. Cut a suitable length of cotton twine using the scissors.
  2. Start at one end of the opening and tie the twine to the first lacer.
  3. Lace the twine in a zig-zag pattern through the lacers, similar to lacing a shoe.
  4. Tie off the twine securely at the last lacer to keep the filling in place.

Cooking

  1. Place the stuffed and secured poultry or meat in your cooking vessel or pan.
  2. Cook according to your recipe’s instructions.

After Cooking

  1. Allow the meat to rest before removing the lacers.
  2. Cut the twine and carefully remove each lacer.
  3. Serve and enjoy your perfectly stuffed dish.
