How to Use Poultry Lacers with Cotton Twine
Materials Needed
- 8 Poultry Lacers with Cotton Twine
- Poultry or meat to be stuffed
- Stuffing mixture of your choice
- Scissors
Preparation
- Ensure the poultry or meat is properly thawed and cleaned.
- Prepare your stuffing mixture according to your recipe.
Stuffing the Meat
- Open the cavity of the poultry or meat and spoon the stuffing inside, ensuring it is evenly distributed.
- Do not overfill to allow for expansion during cooking.
Using the Poultry Lacers
- Take one of the stainless steel lacers and insert it through the skin on one side of the opening.
- Push the lacer through to the opposite side, holding the edges of the opening together.
- Continue inserting additional lacers, spaced evenly, to secure the opening.
Securing with Cotton Twine
- Cut a suitable length of cotton twine using the scissors.
- Start at one end of the opening and tie the twine to the first lacer.
- Lace the twine in a zig-zag pattern through the lacers, similar to lacing a shoe.
- Tie off the twine securely at the last lacer to keep the filling in place.
Cooking
- Place the stuffed and secured poultry or meat in your cooking vessel or pan.
- Cook according to your recipe’s instructions.
After Cooking
- Allow the meat to rest before removing the lacers.
- Cut the twine and carefully remove each lacer.
- Serve and enjoy your perfectly stuffed dish.
