How to Use Silicone Egg Poachers

Materials Needed

• Silicone egg poachers
• Fresh eggs
• Pot with lid
• Water
• Slotted spoon (optional)

Steps to Poach Eggs

1. Prepare the Pot: Fill the pot with about 1-2 inches of water. Make sure there’s enough water to create steam but not so much that it reaches the top of the poachers.
2. Heat the Water: Place the pot on the stove and bring the water to a gentle simmer. You should see small bubbles forming but not a vigorous boil.
3. Place the Poachers: Lightly grease the inside of each silicone poacher with a little oil or butter to prevent sticking. Place the poachers in the pot, ensuring they float on the surface.
4. Add the Eggs: Crack an egg into each poacher. Be careful not to break the yolk.
5. Cover and Cook: Place a lid on the pot to trap the steam. Allow the eggs to poach for about 4-6 minutes, depending on your preference for yolk consistency.
6. Check Doneness: Remove the lid and check if the eggs are cooked to your liking. The whites should be set, and the yolks should be slightly runny.
7. Remove the Poachers: Use a slotted spoon or tongs to carefully remove the poachers from the pot.
8. Serve: Gently slide the poached eggs out of the silicone poachers onto a plate or toast. Season as desired.

Cleaning Instructions

• Allow the poachers to cool before handling.
• Wash the silicone poachers with warm soapy water or place them in the dishwasher.
• Ensure they are completely dry before storing.
