    • Use a chisel to create a recess for the latch faceplate to sit flush with the edge of the door.
  3. Drill the Latch Hole:
    • Drill a hole through the door at the marked spot to accommodate the latch body.
  4. Attach the Latch:
    • Insert the latch into the hole and secure it with screws provided, ensuring that the latch faceplate is flush with the door edge.

Fitting the Strike Plate

  1. Align the Door: Close the door to mark the position where the latch bolt hits the door frame.
  2. Mark the Strike Plate Position:
    • Open the door and align the strike plate with the marked position on the frame.
    • Mark the outline of the strike plate on the frame.
  3. Chisel Out the Recess:
    • Use a chisel to create a recess for the strike plate to sit flush with the door frame.
  4. Attach the Strike Plate:
    • Secure the strike plate to the door frame with the screws provided.

Testing the Latch

  1. Close the Door: Ensure the latch engages smoothly with the strike plate.
