Introduction

The SECURIT S1624 Steel Door Chain is designed to enhance the security of your door. It allows you to partially open your door to identify visitors while keeping it securely closed.

Tools Required

• Screwdriver
• Drill (optional, depending on your door material)
• Pencil or marker
• Measuring tape

Installation Instructions

1. Choose the Installation Position:
   • Open your door and decide the height at which you want to install the chain. Typically, it is installed at eye level.
2. Mark the Screw Holes:
   • Hold the chain plate on the door frame and use a pencil or marker to mark the holes where screws will be fixed.
3. Drill Pilot Holes (if necessary):
   • If your door or frame is particularly hard, use a drill to create small pilot holes for the screws.
4. Attach the Chain Plate:
   • Align the holes of the chain plate with the marks or pilot holes.
   • Secure the chain plate to the door frame using screws.
5. Attach the Door Slide Plate:
   • With the chain attached to the door frame, position the slide plate on the door so that it aligns with the chain.
   • Mark the position, drill pilot holes (if necessary), and secure it with screws.

Using the Door Chain

1. Secure the Door:
   • Close the door and slide the chain into the slide plate to secure the door.
2. Open the Door Partially:
   • When someone knocks, slide open the door slightly to see who is outside while the chain remains engaged for security.
3. Disengage the Chain:
   • To fully open the door, disengage the chain from the slide plate.
