How to Use the Wooden Dough Rolling Pin
Step 1: Prepare Your Dough
- Choose your dough recipe and prepare the dough according to the instructions.
- Allow the dough to rest if required by the recipe to ensure it is pliable.
Step 2: Prepare Your Workspace
- Clean a flat, smooth surface where you will roll out the dough.
- Lightly dust the surface with flour to prevent the dough from sticking.
- Keep extra flour nearby for dusting the rolling pin if needed.
Step 3: Shape the Dough
- Place the dough in the center of the prepared surface.
- Use your hands to press the dough into a flat, even disc.
Step 4: Rolling Out the Dough
- Place the wooden rolling pin at the center of the dough disc.
- Apply even pressure and roll the pin away from your body.
- Rotate the dough 90 degrees and repeat the rolling motion.
- Continue rolling and rotating until you reach the desired thickness.
Step 5: Finishing Up
- Once rolled out, check the dough for even thickness.
- Add more flour if the dough sticks to the surface or rolling pin.
- Use the rolled-out dough for your intended recipe, such as making chapattis or other baked goods.
Cleaning and Storage
- After use, wipe the rolling pin with a damp cloth to clean off any dough residue.
- Allow the rolling pin to air dry completely before storing it in a dry place.
- Avoid soaking the wooden rolling pin in water to prevent warping.
