How to Use BRITA Classic Filter Cartridges

Step 1: Preparing the Filter Cartridge

  • Remove the new BRITA Classic filter cartridge from its packaging.
  • Soak the cartridge in cold water for approximately 15 minutes.
  • After soaking, rinse the cartridge under running cold water for a few seconds.

Step 2: Inserting the Cartridge

  • Open the lid of your BRITA water filter jug or system.
  • Insert the prepared filter cartridge into the designated slot. Ensure it is seated firmly in place.

Step 3: Flushing the Cartridge

  • Fill the jug or system with cold water.
  • Discard the first two fillings of water to remove any loose carbon dust.

Step 4: Using the Filtered Water

  • Once flushed, your filter is ready to use. Fill the jug with water and let it filter through.
  • Enjoy fresh, filtered water for drinking, cooking, and more.

Step 5: Replacing the Cartridge

  • Replace the filter cartridge every 4 weeks or after filtering approximately 100 liters of water for optimal performance.
