Materials Needed
- KORBOND Hemming Web 10M – Black
- Iron
- Ironing board or flat surface
- Scissors
- Fabric or garment you wish to hem
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prepare Your Fabric
- Lay your fabric or garment flat on an ironing board or other heat-resistant surface.
- Decide the length you want for the hem and fold the fabric accordingly.
- Press the fold with an iron to create a crease.
2. Cut the Hemming Web
- Measure the length of the hem and cut a piece of hemming web to fit.
3. Position the Hemming Web
- Place the hemming web between the folded fabric layers. Ensure it lies flat and even along the entire hem length.
4. Iron the Hem
- Set your iron to a suitable temperature for the fabric you are working with (refer to the fabric’s care label).
- Press the iron firmly over the folded hem area. Hold for a few seconds to allow the hemming web to melt and bond the fabric layers together.
- Move the iron along the hem, ensuring each section is bonded before moving to the next.
5. Check Your Hem
- Allow the fabric to cool down briefly.
- Check the hem to ensure it is secure. If necessary, repeat the ironing process on any sections not fully bonded.
Additional Tips
- Test the hemming web on a scrap piece of fabric to check the temperature settings and bonding strength.
- For delicate fabrics, use a pressing cloth between the iron and the fabric to prevent damage.
