How to Use the Harris Seriously Good Walls & Ceilings Paint Brush 1.5 Inch / 38mm

Materials Needed

• Harris Seriously Good Walls & Ceilings Paint Brush 1.5 Inch / 38mm
• Paint suitable for walls and ceilings
• Paint tray
• Painter’s tape
• Drop cloth or old newspaper
• Stir stick
• Clean water (for water-based paints) or paint thinner (for oil-based paints)
• Clean cloth or paper towels

Preparation

1. Spread the drop cloth or old newspaper on the floor to protect surfaces from paint splatters.
2. Use painter’s tape to mask edges, such as around windows, doors, and trim, for clean lines.
3. Open the paint can and stir the paint thoroughly with a stir stick to ensure even consistency.
4. Pour a small amount of paint into the paint tray.

Using the Paint Brush

1. Dip the Harris paint brush into the paint, loading the brush about one-third of the way up the bristles.
2. Tap the brush gently against the side of the paint tray to remove excess paint.
3. Start painting at the edges and corners of the wall or ceiling using smooth, even strokes.
4. Hold the brush at a slight angle to ensure a uniform application.
5. Use long strokes for broader areas and shorter, more controlled strokes for detailed work.
6. Overlap strokes slightly to avoid visible brush marks and ensure even coverage.

Cleaning and Storage

1. When you finish painting, clean the brush immediately to prevent the paint from drying on the bristles.
2. For water-based paints, rinse the brush under warm, running water until the water runs clear.
3. For oil-based paints, use paint thinner to clean the bristles, following the manufacturer’s instructions.
4. Gently reshape the bristles and lay the brush flat on a clean cloth or paper towel to dry.
