Materials Needed

  • Painter’s tape
  • Drop cloth or old sheets
  • Paint tray
  • Stir stick
  • Cleaning rags

Preparation

  1. Lay down a drop cloth or old sheets to protect the floor and furniture.
  2. Use painter’s tape to cover any edges or areas you do not want to paint.
  3. Open the paint can and stir the paint thoroughly using a stir stick.
  4. Pour a small amount of paint into a paint tray.

Painting Technique

  1. Dip the Harris Essentials paint brush into the paint, covering no more than one-third of the bristles.
  2. Gently tap the brush against the side of the tray to remove any excess paint.
  3. Start painting by applying the brush to the wall or ceiling in smooth, even strokes.

  5. Reload the brush with paint as needed, ensuring an even application.

Finishing Up

  1. Once you have finished painting, clean the brush immediately with water if using water-based paint or with the appropriate solvent for oil-based paints.
  2. Rinse the brush until the water runs clear, and then reshape the bristles.
  3. Allow the brush to dry completely before storing it for future use.
