Preparing the Cafetière

  • Ensure the cafetière is clean and dry before use.
  • Place it on a stable, heat-resistant surface.

Boiling Water

  • Boil fresh water using a kettle or on the stove.
  • Allow the water to sit for a minute to let the temperature drop slightly.

Adding Coffee Grounds

  • Remove the lid and plunger from the cafetière.
  • Measure approximately one heaped tablespoon (about 7-8 grams) of coarsely ground coffee per cup (125ml) of water.
  • Add the coffee grounds to the bottom of the cafetière.

Pouring Water

  • Gently pour the hot water over the coffee grounds.
  • Stir the mixture with a spoon to ensure even saturation.

Brewing

  • Place the lid back on the cafetière with the plunger pulled all the way up.
  • Let the coffee brew for about 4 minutes.

Plunging

  • Hold the handle of the cafetière firmly.
  • Slowly press the plunger downwards with steady pressure.
  • Ensure the plunger is pushed all the way to the bottom.

Serving

  • Pour the freshly brewed coffee into cups.
  • Enjoy your coffee immediately for the best flavor.

Cleaning

  • Disassemble the plunger and lid from the cafetière.
  • Rinse all parts with warm water and mild detergent.
  • Allow all parts to dry thoroughly before reassembling or storing.
