How to Use the GRUNWERG Cafe Ole Stainless Steel Double Wall Cafetiere
Step 1: Gather Your Ingredients and Tools
- GRUNWERG Cafe Ole Stainless Steel Double Wall Cafetiere (8 Cup, 1 Litre)
- Coarsely ground coffee
- Hot water (just off the boil)
- Stirring spoon
- Timer
Step 2: Prepare the Cafetiere
- Remove the lid and plunger from the cafetiere.
- Pre-warm the cafetiere by rinsing it with hot water. This helps maintain the temperature of your coffee.
Step 3: Add Coffee Grounds
- Measure approximately 1 tablespoon (7 grams) of coarsely ground coffee per cup (125 ml).
- Add the ground coffee to the bottom of the cafetiere.
Step 4: Add Hot Water
- Pour hot water (just off the boil) over the coffee grounds, filling the cafetiere to the desired level, up to 1 litre.
- Make sure all coffee grounds are saturated.
Step 5: Stir and Steep
- Gently stir the mixture with a spoon to ensure even extraction.
- Place the lid and plunger back on the cafetiere, but do not press down yet.
- Let the coffee steep for about 4 minutes.
Step 6: Press the Plunger
- After 4 minutes, slowly press the plunger down to separate the coffee grounds from the liquid.
- Apply steady pressure to avoid spilling.
Step 7: Serve and Enjoy
- Pour the freshly brewed coffee into cups and enjoy.
- For best results, serve immediately after pressing the plunger.
