Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Threads

• Ensure that the threads on the pipe or fitting are clean and dry.
• Remove any debris, dirt, or old tape from the threads.

Step 2: Start Wrapping the Tape

• Hold the PTFE tape at the end of the threads.
• Begin wrapping the tape around the threads in the direction of the thread rotation (usually clockwise).

Step 3: Continue Wrapping

• Apply the tape with slight tension to ensure a snug fit.
• Overlap each pass of tape by about 50% to ensure complete coverage.
• Wrap the tape around the threads 3 to 4 times for standard applications. For larger threads, you may need more wraps.

Step 4: Finish and Cut the Tape

• Once wrapped, cut the tape with scissors or tear it with your fingers.
• Ensure the tape is flush against the threads and not hanging over the edge.

Step 5: Assemble the Threaded Parts

• Tighten further if necessary using appropriate tools, taking care not to overtighten.
