How to Use the DRAPER EXPERT 40834 6.5 X 160MM SDS+ Masonry Drill Bit

1. Gather Necessary Safety Equipment

• Safety goggles
• Dust mask
• Ear protection
• Work gloves

2. Prepare Your Drill

1. Ensure your drill is compatible with SDS+ bits.
2. Make sure the drill is unplugged or the battery is removed before inserting the drill bit.

3. Insert the Drill Bit

1. Align the shank of the drill bit with the chuck of your SDS+ drill.
2. Push the bit into the chuck until it clicks into place securely.
3. Pull on the drill bit slightly to make sure it is locked in position.

4. Mark the Drilling Spot

• Use a pencil or marker to mark the exact spot where you want to drill.
• If necessary, use a center punch to create a small dimple to help guide the drill bit.

5. Start Drilling

1. Set the drill to the hammer action mode, if applicable.
2. Position the drill bit on the marked spot.
3. Apply steady pressure and start the drill at a low speed to avoid slippage.
4. Gradually increase the speed as the bit penetrates into the material.

6. Monitor the Drilling Process

7. Complete the Drilling

1. Once the hole is drilled to the desired depth, slowly pull the drill bit out while it’s still rotating.
2. Turn off the drill and carefully remove the bit from the chuck.

8. Clean Up

• Turn off and unplug the drill or remove the battery.
• Clean the drill bit and store it properly for future use.
• Clear away any remaining dust or debris from the work area.
