How to Use the Apollo Corkscrew Waiter’s Friend Deluxe
The Apollo Corkscrew Waiter’s Friend Deluxe is a versatile tool designed to help you open wine bottles with ease. Follow these simple steps to make the most out of your corkscrew.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prepare the Bottle
- Ensure the bottle is placed on a stable surface.
- Remove any foil or plastic covering from the top of the bottle using the small knife included in the corkscrew tool, if necessary.
2. Position the Corkscrew
- Open the corkscrew tool to reveal the worm (the spiral metal part).
- Place the tip of the corkscrew at the center of the cork.
- Apply slight pressure and begin twisting the corkscrew clockwise into the cork.
- Continue twisting until the worm is mostly inserted into the cork, leaving one spiral visible.
3. Leverage and Remove the Cork
- Engage the first notch of the lever (the boot lever) on the edge of the bottle’s mouth.
- Gently push down on the handle to begin lifting the cork out of the bottle.
- If needed, reposition to the second notch of the lever for additional leverage.
- Continue to pull the cork out by hand once it is easy to do so.
4. Serve the Wine
- Once the cork is removed, wipe any debris from the bottle rim with a clean cloth.
- Pour the wine into a glass and enjoy responsibly.
Additional Tips
- Practice using the corkscrew on an empty bottle to become familiar with the motion.
- Always twist the corkscrew into the cork slowly and smoothly to prevent breaking the cork.
- Store the corkscrew in a safe place when not in use to avoid injury from the sharp components.
