Materials Needed

• Paint Factory Yacht Varnish Clear Gloss Paint 300ml
• Paintbrush or roller
• Sandpaper (medium and fine grit)
• Clean cloth
• Mixing stick
• Protective gloves
• Masking tape (optional)
• Drop cloths or newspaper

Preparation

1. Ensure you are in a well-ventilated area.
2. Lay down drop cloths or newspapers to protect surrounding surfaces.
3. Wear protective gloves to prevent skin contact with the varnish.
4. Use masking tape to cover areas that you do not want to be varnished.

Surface Preparation

1. Sand the surface with medium grit sandpaper to remove any imperfections.
2. Switch to fine grit sandpaper for a smoother finish.
3. Wipe the surface with a clean cloth to remove any dust or debris.

Application

1. Open the can of varnish and stir well with a mixing stick.
2. Dip your paintbrush or roller into the varnish, removing excess on the side of the can.
3. Apply the varnish in thin, even coats, following the grain of the wood if applicable.
4. Allow the first coat to dry completely as per the manufacturer’s instructions.
5. Lightly sand the surface with fine grit sandpaper between coats for a smoother finish.
6. Wipe away any dust with a clean cloth before applying additional coats.
