How to Use the BRITA Marella XL Water Filter Jug

Step 1: Unbox the Product

• Carefully remove the BRITA Marella XL Water Filter Jug from its packaging.
• Ensure you have all components: the jug, lid, and filter cartridge.

Step 2: Prepare the Filter Cartridge

• Remove the filter cartridge from its wrapping.
• Submerge the cartridge in cold water and shake gently to remove air bubbles.
• Rinse the cartridge under running water for about 15 seconds.

Step 3: Insert the Filter Cartridge

• Open the lid of the jug.
• Place the prepared filter cartridge into the funnel of the jug, ensuring it is securely seated.

Step 4: Fill the Jug with Water

• Fill the jug with cold tap water through the funnel.
• Allow the water to pass through the filter cartridge into the main reservoir of the jug.

Step 5: Discard Initial Water

• For optimal filtering, discard the first two fillings of filtered water.

Step 6: Enjoy Filtered Water

• Once the initial water has been discarded, refill the jug and enjoy clean, filtered water.
• Store the jug in a cool place or refrigerator for best results.

Step 7: Replace the Filter Cartridge

• Replace the filter cartridge every four weeks or as indicated by the electronic indicator (if available).
