How to Use BIG K Lump Wood Charcoal
Step 1: Prepare Your Grill
- Ensure your grill is clean and free of any ash or debris from previous use.
- Open any vents to allow for proper airflow during the cooking process.
Step 2: Arrange the Charcoal
- Remove one 3kg bag of BIG K Lump Wood Charcoal from the package.
- Pour the charcoal into the grill, arranging it in a pyramid or mound shape for better ignition.
Step 3: Light the Charcoal
- Use a charcoal chimney starter or lighter cubes to ignite the charcoal.
- If using lighter cubes, place them under the charcoal mound and light them with a long match or lighter.
- Allow the charcoal to burn until it is covered with a light gray ash, indicating it is ready for cooking.
Step 4: Spread the Charcoal
- Once the charcoal is ready, use tongs or a heat-resistant tool to spread it evenly across the bottom of the grill.
- For direct cooking, spread the charcoal in a single layer. For indirect cooking, arrange the charcoal to one side of the grill.
Step 5: Start Grilling
- Place the grill grate back on and allow it to heat up for a few minutes.
- Apply a light coat of oil to the grill grate to prevent sticking.
- Place your food on the grill and start cooking. Adjust the vents to control the temperature as needed.
Step 6: Extinguish the Charcoal
- Once you are done cooking, close all the vents to suffocate the charcoal and let it cool completely.
- Dispose of the ash safely and clean the grill for future use.
