Materials Needed

Preparation

1. Choose a well-ventilated area or work outdoors to ensure proper air circulation.
2. Lay down a drop cloth or newspaper to protect the surrounding area from overspray.
3. Clean the surface to be painted, removing any dirt, grease, or loose material.
4. If necessary, sand the surface to ensure it is smooth and ready for painting.
5. Apply a primer to the surface if recommended for the material you are painting.
6. Wear protective gloves, a face mask, and protective eyewear to ensure safety.

Application

1. Shake the spray paint can vigorously for at least one minute after the mixing ball begins to rattle.
2. Test the spray on a small inconspicuous area or a piece of scrap material to ensure the nozzle is working properly and to get a feel for the spray pattern.
3. Hold the can about 10-12 inches away from the surface.
4. Spray using a steady, sweeping motion, slightly overlapping each stroke to ensure even coverage.

6. Allow each coat to dry according to the manufacturer’s instructions before applying the next coat.

Cleanup and Storage
