Materials Needed

• Drop cloth or newspaper

Preparation

1. Ensure you are in a well-ventilated area or work outside.
2. Put on protective gloves, safety goggles, and a dust mask.
3. Lay down a drop cloth or newspaper to protect the surrounding area from overspray.
4. If necessary, sand the wood surface to smooth out any imperfections.
5. Wipe the surface with a clean cloth to remove dust and debris.

Application

1. Shake the can of spray paint vigorously for at least 2 minutes before use.
2. Hold the can approximately 12 inches (30 cm) from the surface.
3. Spray in a sweeping motion, using light, even coats to avoid drips and runs.
4. Allow each coat to dry completely before applying the next coat. Refer to the can for specific drying times.
5. Apply additional coats as needed to achieve the desired finish.

Finishing

1. Once the final coat is dry, inspect the surface for any imperfections.
2. If necessary, lightly sand between coats for a smoother finish.
3. Remove any protective coverings from the area.
