How to Use the AMTECH Crimping Tool 200MM / 8 Inch

Step 1: Understand the Tool

• Familiarize yourself with the crimping tool, including its parts and functions.
• Note the handles, crimping jaws, and built-in wire cutter.

Step 2: Safety Precautions

• Ensure you are wearing safety goggles to protect your eyes.
• Keep fingers clear of the crimping jaws.
• Work in a well-lit area to avoid accidental injuries.

Step 3: Prepare the Wire

• Use the built-in wire cutter to cut the wire to your desired length.
• Strip approximately 1/4 inch (6mm) of insulation from the end of the wire using a wire stripper.

Step 4: Insert the Terminal

• Insert the stripped end of the wire into the barrel of the crimp terminal.
• Ensure that the wire is fully inserted and visible through the inspection window of the terminal.

Step 5: Position the Terminal in the Tool

• Open the crimping tool by squeezing the handles together.
• Place the crimp terminal into the appropriate crimping slot on the tool.
• Ensure the terminal’s barrel is positioned correctly within the jaws for a secure crimp.

Step 6: Crimp the Terminal

• Squeeze the handles of the crimping tool firmly to crimp the terminal onto the wire.
• Ensure that the crimp is secure and that the wire does not pull out of the terminal.

Step 7: Inspect the Crimp

• Visually inspect the crimp to ensure it is tight and secure.
• Check that the wire is well-seated within the terminal.

Step 8: Repeat

• Repeat the process for any additional wires and terminals as necessary.
