Prepare Your Materials

Thread Your Needle
- Cut a length of thread approximately 18-24 inches long.
- Separate the 6-ply thread into thinner strands if desired.
- Insert the thread through the eye of the embroidery needle.
- Tie a knot at the end of the thread.
Start Embroidering
- Place the fabric in the embroidery hoop and tighten the screw to hold it in place.
- Use an embroidery pattern or freehand your design on the fabric.
- Begin stitching by bringing the needle up from the back of the fabric.
- Follow your pattern or design using different stitches like backstitch, satin stitch, or French knots.
Finishing Touches
- Once your design is complete, tie off the thread on the back of the fabric.
- Trim any excess thread with embroidery scissors.
- Remove the fabric from the embroidery hoop and gently iron it if needed.
Tips for Beginners
- Start with simple designs as you get used to handling the thread and needle.
- Practice different stitches on a scrap piece of fabric before starting your main project.
- Experiment with both single colour and two tone threads to add variety to your designs.
