How to Use the BRITA Marella Water Filter Jug

Unboxing and Initial Setup

  • Remove the BRITA Marella Water Filter Jug from its packaging.
  • Separate the lid, jug, and filter cartridge.
  • Rinse the jug and lid with warm water to clean them before first use.

Preparing the Filter Cartridge

  • Take the filter cartridge and immerse it in cold water for about 10 minutes to activate it.
  • Gently shake the cartridge underwater to remove any air bubbles.
  • Discard the water used for soaking the cartridge.

Installing the Filter Cartridge

  • Insert the soaked filter cartridge into the funnel of the jug.
  • Ensure the filter is securely fitted in place.

Filling the Jug

  • Place the lid back on the jug.
  • Open the lid or flip-top to fill the jug with cold tap water.
  • Allow the water to pass through the filter into the jug.

Using the Filtered Water

  • Once filtered, pour the water into a glass or container.
  • Enjoy fresh, filtered water for drinking or cooking.

Maintenance and Care

  • Replace the filter cartridge every 4 weeks or as indicated by the BRITA memo indicator.
  • Regularly clean the jug and lid with warm soapy water.
  • Do not use a dishwasher to clean the jug or lid.
