Materials Needed

Preparation

1. Ensure you are in a well-ventilated area to avoid inhaling fumes.

3. Lay down a drop cloth or newspaper to protect the surrounding area from overspray.
4. If the surface to be painted is rough, use sandpaper to smooth it out.
5. Clean the surface with a clean cloth to remove dust and debris.

Application

1. Shake the can of spray paint vigorously for at least one minute to mix the contents thoroughly.
2. Hold the can approximately 25-30 cm (10-12 inches) away from the surface.
3. Begin spraying in a steady back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke.
4. Apply several thin coats rather than one thick coat, allowing a few minutes of drying time between coats.
5. Inspect the surface to ensure even coverage and apply additional coats if necessary.

Drying and Cleanup

1. Allow the painted surface to dry completely; drying times may vary based on temperature and humidity.
2. Once finished, turn the can upside down and spray until only gas comes out to clear the nozzle.
