Materials Needed

• Cleaning solvent (water for water-based paints, mineral spirits for oil-based paints)
• Protective clothing and gloves

Preparation

1. Ensure the surface to be painted is clean, dry, and free from dust or grease.
2. Stir the paint thoroughly and pour a small amount into a paint tray.
3. Put on protective clothing and gloves to prevent paint splatters on your skin and clothes.

Using the Paint Brush

1. Dip the brush into the paint, covering no more than one-third of the bristle length.
2. Gently tap the brush against the side of the paint tray to remove excess paint.
3. Apply the paint to the surface using long, even strokes, maintaining a consistent pressure.
4. For best results, paint in one direction and avoid over-brushing, which can cause streaks.

After Use

1. Clean the brush immediately after use to maintain its quality.
2. For water-based paints, rinse the brush in warm, soapy water until the water runs clear.
