How to Use Disposable Face Masks

Step 1: Clean Your Hands

• Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
• If soap and water are not available, use a hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol content.

Step 2: Inspect the Mask

• Ensure the mask is not damaged or dirty.
• Identify the top of the mask, which is usually a stiff bendable edge, and the front, which is typically colored blue.

Step 3: Position the Mask

• Hold the mask by the earloops with the stiff edge upwards.
• Place a loop around each ear.

Step 4: Adjust the Mask

• Mold or pinch the stiff edge to the shape of your nose.
• Pull the bottom of the mask over your mouth and chin, ensuring it covers fully.

Step 5: Avoid Touching the Mask

• Once the mask is in position, avoid touching the mask while using it.
• If you do touch it, wash your hands immediately.

Step 6: Removing the Mask

• Wash your hands with soap and water or use hand sanitizer.
• Remove the mask by holding the earloops and lifting it away from your face.
• Avoid touching the front of the mask during removal.

Step 7: Dispose of the Mask

• Dispose of the mask in a waste bin immediately after use.
• Do not reuse disposable masks.
