How to Use the GRUNWERG CAFE OLE Stainless Steel Double Wall Cafetiere
Step 1: Gather Your Ingredients and Tools

- Freshly ground coffee (coarse grind recommended)
- Hot water (just off the boil)
- Stirring spoon
- Timer (optional)
Step 2: Preheat the Cafetiere
- Boil some water and pour it into the cafetiere to preheat it.
- Swirl the water around to warm the sides.
- Discard the water after a few seconds.
Step 3: Measure the Coffee
- Use a ratio of 1 tablespoon of coffee per cup (approx. 125ml).
- For a full 6-cup cafetiere, use about 6 tablespoons of coffee.
Step 4: Add Coffee Grounds to the Cafetiere
- Place the measured coffee grounds into the cafetiere.
Step 5: Add Hot Water
- Pour hot water over the coffee grounds, ensuring all grounds are saturated.
- Fill the cafetiere to the maximum level mark (750ml).
Step 6: Stir and Steep
- Use a spoon to stir the mixture gently to ensure even extraction.
- Place the lid on the cafetiere, with the plunger in the up position.
- Let the coffee steep for about 4 minutes.
Step 7: Press the Plunger
- Slowly and steadily press the plunger down to the bottom.
- Ensure that you apply even pressure to avoid coffee grounds escaping.
Step 8: Serve and Enjoy
- Pour the freshly brewed coffee into your cup immediately to avoid over-extraction.
- Enjoy your coffee while it is hot.
Cleaning and Maintenance
- Disassemble the plunger and rinse all components with warm soapy water.
- Hand wash recommended for longevity.
- Ensure all parts are dry before reassembling.
