How to Use the Harris Essentials Gloss Paint Brush 2 Inch / 50mm

Preparation

• Ensure the surface you are painting is clean, dry, and free from dust or grease.
• Stir the gloss paint thoroughly before use to ensure an even consistency.
• Pour a small amount of paint into a paint tray to avoid dipping the brush directly into the can.

Using the Brush

• Dip the brush into the paint tray, loading it with paint about one-third of the bristle length.
• Tap the brush gently against the side of the tray to remove excess paint.
• Apply the paint to the surface using smooth, even strokes.
• Start from the edges and work your way inwards for a uniform finish.

Cleaning the Brush

• After use, clean the brush immediately with the appropriate solvent (such as white spirit for gloss paint).
• Rinse the brush thoroughly with warm soapy water.
• Shake off excess water and reshape the bristles with your fingers.
• Store the brush in a dry place, ideally hanging it to maintain the shape.

Additional Tips

• Work in a well-ventilated area to avoid inhaling fumes.
• Apply multiple thin coats rather than one thick coat for the best finish.
• Allow each coat to dry thoroughly before applying the next.
